How to get my LLC taxed as an S-corp

0) Form an LLC. (This can easily be done with the Secretary of State in your state, possibly online. You can also use LegalZoom).

1) Fill form 2553 to be elected as scorp (No later than March 15)

2) Open a business checking account(Separate business income from personal income)

3) Use a payroll service like Gusto, which will take care of payroll, and all forms including w2, 940,941, and state and local forms if necessary

4) Set a salary for yourself and a distribution (per a CPA, usually at 50% of income each)

5) bill your clients as your llc company, deposit these earnings on your business account and let Gusto pay you through payroll taking the money from this account.

6) come tax time next year you should fill form 1120s for s-corp income

7) fill your personal tax return including your w2 plus your distributions in schedule K-1
